n\u00edvel do solo<\/h3>\n<p>A\u00a0<strong>radia\u00e7\u00e3o c\u00f3smica prim\u00e1ria<\/strong>\u00a0consiste em uma mistura de\u00a0<strong>pr\u00f3tons<\/strong>\u00a0de\u00a0<strong>alta energia<\/strong>\u00a0(~ 87%),\u00a0<strong>part\u00edculas alfa<\/strong>\u00a0(~ 11%),\u00a0<strong>el\u00e9trons de alta energia<\/strong>\u00a0(~ 1%) e um tra\u00e7o de n\u00facleos mais pesados \u200b\u200b(~ 1%).\u00a0A energia dessas part\u00edculas varia entre 10\u00a0<sup>8<\/sup>\u00a0eV e 10\u00a0<sup>20<\/sup>\u00a0eV.\u00a0Uma fra\u00e7\u00e3o muito pequena s\u00e3o part\u00edculas est\u00e1veis \u200b\u200bde\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nuclear-power.com\/nuclear-power\/reactor-physics\/atomic-nuclear-physics\/fundamental-particles\/what-is-antimatter\/\">antimat\u00e9ria<\/a>\u00a0, como\u00a0<a os\u00a0<strong>m\u00faons<\/strong>\u00a0, com energias principalmente entre 1 e 20 GeV, contribuem com cerca de\u00a0<strong>75% da taxa de dose absorvida<\/strong>\u00a0no ar livre.\u00a0O restante vem de el\u00e9trons produzidos pelos m\u00faons ou presentes na cascata eletromagn\u00e9tica.\u00a0A\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.radiation-dosimetry.org\/pt-br\/o-que-e-dose-eficaz-definicao\/\">dose<\/a>\u00a0anual de raios c\u00f3smicos\u00a0ao n\u00edvel do mar \u00e9 de cerca de\u00a0<strong>0,27 mSv<\/strong>\u00a0(27 mrem).<\/p>\n<h3>Taxa de dose durante o voo<\/h3>\n<p>Durante o v\u00f4o, estamos mais expostos \u00e0 radia\u00e7\u00e3o c\u00f3smica do que no solo.\u00a0Na altitude m\u00e1xima de v\u00f4o (8,8 km ou 29.000 p\u00e9s), pode atingir cerca de\u00a0<strong>2,0 \u03bcSv \/ h<\/strong>\u00a0(ou valores ainda mais altos).\u00a0Uma taxa de dose de\u00a0<strong>4 \u03bcSv \/ h<\/strong>\u00a0pode ser usada para representar a taxa m\u00e9dia de dose para todos os voos de longo curso (devido a altitudes mais altas).\u00a0Deve-se acrescentar que, para avi\u00f5es supers\u00f4nicos como o Concorde, que poderiam realizar um v\u00f4o transatl\u00e2ntico em 3,5 horas, a taxa de exposi\u00e7\u00e3o (cerca de\u00a0<strong>9 \u03bcSv \/ h<\/strong>\u00a0) na altitude de 18 km foi aumentada o suficiente para resultar na mesma exposi\u00e7\u00e3o a raios c\u00f3smicos por cruzando como nos jatos convencionais, rodando cerca de 8 km.<\/p>\n<h2>Radia\u00e7\u00e3o C\u00f3smica &#8211; \u00c9 perigoso?<\/h2>\n<p>Devemos enfatizar que comer bananas, trabalhar como tripula\u00e7\u00e3o de avi\u00e3o ou morar em locais com aumenta a taxa de dose anual.\u00a0<strong>Mas isso n\u00e3o significa que deve ser perigoso.\u00a0<\/strong>Em cada caso, a intensidade da radia\u00e7\u00e3o tamb\u00e9m \u00e9 importante.\u00a0\u00c9 muito semelhante ao calor de um inc\u00eandio (menos radia\u00e7\u00e3o energ\u00e9tica).\u00a0Se voc\u00ea estiver muito perto, a intensidade da radia\u00e7\u00e3o de calor \u00e9 alta e voc\u00ea pode se queimar.\u00a0Se voc\u00ea estiver na dist\u00e2ncia certa, poder\u00e1 resistir a ela sem problemas e, al\u00e9m disso, \u00e9 confort\u00e1vel.\u00a0Se voc\u00ea estiver muito longe da fonte de calor, a insufici\u00eancia de calor tamb\u00e9m poder\u00e1 prejudic\u00e1-lo.\u00a0Essa analogia, em certo sentido, pode ser aplicada \u00e0 radia\u00e7\u00e3o tamb\u00e9m de fontes de em dose alta: modelo LNT e modelo hormesis.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>No caso de\u00a0<strong>radia\u00e7\u00e3o das bananas<\/strong>\u00a0, estamos falando das chamadas\u00a0<strong><em>&#8220;doses baixas&#8221;<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0.\u00a0Dose baixa aqui significa doses pequenas adicionais compar\u00e1veis \u200b\u200b\u00e0\u00a0<strong>radia\u00e7\u00e3o<\/strong>\u00a0normal de\u00a0<strong>fundo<\/strong>\u00a0(\u00a0<strong>10 \u00b5Sv<\/strong>\u00a0= dose di\u00e1ria m\u00e9dia recebida de fundo natural).\u00a0As doses s\u00e3o muito baixas e, portanto, a probabilidade de indu\u00e7\u00e3o de c\u00e2ncer pode ser quase insignificante.\u00a0Em segundo lugar, e isso \u00e9 crucial, a verdade ou\u00a0<strong>hormesis<\/strong>n\u00e3o porque \u00e9 a mais cientificamente convincente, mas porque \u00e9 a\u00a0<strong>estimativa mais conservadora<\/strong>\u00a0.\u00a0O problema desse modelo \u00e9 que ele negligencia v\u00e1rios\u00a0<strong>processos biol\u00f3gicos<\/strong>\u00a0de\u00a0<strong>defesa<\/strong>\u00a0que podem ser cruciais\u00a0<strong>em doses baixas<\/strong>\u00a0.\u00a0A pesquisa nas \u00faltimas duas d\u00e9cadas \u00e9 muito interessante e mostra que pequenas doses de radia\u00e7\u00e3o administradas em uma taxa de dose baixa\u00a0<strong>estimulam os mecanismos de defesa<\/strong>\u00a0.\u00a0Portanto, o modelo LNT n\u00e3o \u00e9 universalmente aceito, com alguns propondo uma rela\u00e7\u00e3o dose-resposta adaptativa, em que baixas doses s\u00e3o protetoras e altas s\u00e3o prejudiciais.\u00a0Muitos estudos contradizem o modelo LNT e muitos deles mostraram resposta adaptativa a baixas doses de radia\u00e7\u00e3o, resultando em muta\u00e7\u00f5es e c\u00e2nceres reduzidos.\u00a0Esse fen\u00f4meno \u00e9 conhecido como<strong>hormesis de
