que a probabilidade por unidade de tempo que um n\u00facleo decair\u00e1 \u00e9 uma constante, independente do tempo.\u00a0Essa constante \u00e9 chamada\u00a0\u00a0<strong>constante de decaimento<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0e \u00e9 denotada por \u03bb, &#8220;lambda&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Um dos termos mais \u00fateis para estimar a rapidez com que um nucl\u00eddeo decai \u00e9 a\u00a0\u00a0<strong>meia-vida radioativa<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0(\u00a0<strong>t\u00a0<\/strong><strong><sub>1\/2<\/sub><\/strong>\u00a0).\u00a0A\u00a0\u00a0<strong>meia-vida<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00e9 definida como a quantidade de tempo que um determinado is\u00f3topo leva para perder metade de sua radioatividade.<\/p>\n<p>Nos c\u00e1lculos de radioatividade, um dos dois par\u00e2metros (\u00a0<strong>constante de
